...RAIN AND SNOW MELT COULD CAUSE MINOR FLOODING IN THE
HEADWATERS...

.The combination of rain and snow melt has led to rises in water
level in the headwaters of area rivers. Minor flooding is
possible, especially on tributaries of the Androscoggin River.

...FLOOD WATCH IS CANCELLED...

The Flood Watch for a portion of northern New Hampshire has been
cancelled.

Although river levels have risen in response to snow melt and
recent rainfall, all rivers are forecast to crest below flood
stage.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of south central Maine, west central Maine, and
  western Maine, including the following areas, in south central
  Maine, Kennebec and Southern Somerset. In west central Maine,
  Central Somerset. In western Maine, Northern Franklin,
  Northern Oxford, Southern Franklin, and Southern Oxford.

* Through this afternoon

* The combination of melting snow and rain may produce minor
  flooding on tributaries of the larger rivers flowing east out of
  the mountains.

* Flooding, if it were to occur, will be minor, only affecting
  the most vulnerable areas near the rivers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
