Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
351 PM EDT Thu May 2 2024

.DISCUSSION...An area of high pressure will depart to the east and
southeast of the area tonight and Friday and allow a cold front
to approach. The front will gradually work across the area during
the first half of the weekend, while another front may move to
near the OH River and stall to end the weekend. A series of
passing disturbances will interact with these boundaries to bring
shower and thunderstorm chances this weekend. The stalled boundary
should lift north as a warm front on Monday, though another cold
front may sag toward the OH River Valley during the middle to
latter half of next week. Passing disturbances, the boundaries,
and daytime heating will lead to chances for showers and
thunderstorms at times, generally peaking each afternoon and
evening.
