Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...A front will enter the area on Thursday accompanied
by widespread precipitation. Afterwards, dry conditions are to
follow with weak high pressure in place over the weekend. The
next disturbance will usher a return of rain, mountain snow, and
cooler conditions into next week.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry
skiing and mountaineering conditions across much of the alpine
terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard-
like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are
likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain,
including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in
these conditions.

in the afternoon. A chance of rain and snow late in the
