Fire Weather Planning Forecast For West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
301 PM CDT Fri Apr 20 2018

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ THIS
EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

Through early evening and west of Lovington New Mexico to Marfa
Texas line, expect critical to extreme fire weather conditions.
Look for minimum relative humidity values of 5 to 15 percent and
west winds 20 to 30 mph sustained...30 to 50 mph in the Guadalupe
mountains. West of this line, look for poor RH recovery with
winds decreasing to below 15 mph.

Near critical conditions are forecast Saturday generally south
and west of a Carlsbad NM to Sanderson TX line. A short-fused
Red Flag Warning may be needed for Saturday afternoon, with the
Guadalupe Mountains south and east into the Big Bend the
most likely areas.
