.PREV DISCUSSION...
SHORT TERM...Tonight through Sunday night...An upper ridge over
the region will bring early summer like temperatures through
the weekend. The warmth will peak on Sunday, bringing high
temperatures to around 15 degrees above normal. This will place
the valleys into the mid-80s with mountain valleys in the upper
70s. Winds will ramp up on Sunday afternoon/evening across open
terrain as flow aloft increases.

LONG TERM...Monday through Friday...An upper trough will track
across the region Monday bringing a 15% chance of showers and
thunderstorms to higher terrain of s-central Idaho, mainly south
of the Snake River Plain. Otherwise the trough passage is dry
and marked by gusty winds and slightly cooler temperatures from
Monday. Deterministic models quickly fall out of agreement after
Monday. There is little change in ensemble consensus which is
to keep the area under dry northwesterly flow along the east
side of an upper ridge. This pattern will keep temperatures
well above normal through the week.
