Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
236 PM CDT Mon May 6 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Isolated light rain showers or sprinkles will occur until sunset
southeast of I-55 with a fair amount of low clouds around. A line
of thunderstorms will push eastward into west-central IL during
overnight, approaching I-55 by sunrise, and pass through the rest of
central IL Tuesday morning. More isolated to scattered thunderstorms
are expected to develop during Tuesday afternoon in eastern IL and
linger in southeast IL early Tuesday evening. Yet another round of
thunderstorms is likely Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening.
Poor ventilation rates will prevail rest of today. Higher mixing
heights and gusty south to southwest winds will lead to good to
very good ventilation rates by Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.
