Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
323 AM CDT Sat May 18 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Unseasonably warm temperatures in the 80s are expected today.
With min RHs expected in the 30 percent range, but winds out of
the southwest are forecast to remain light with good humidity
recovery overnight. There is a non-zero chance for an isolated
shower or two late this afternoon and tonight with a front, but
confidence is low. Winds switch to the northeast on Sunday and
coming from the lake it will result in cooler conditions closer
to the shoreline, while warmer temperatures are expected farther
inland. Active weather returns early next week as multiple
rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected.
