...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of east central Missouri, including the
following county, Lincoln.
* WHEN...Until 230 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1037 AM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
the advisory area had caused flooding of several low water
crossing. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Troy, Elsberry, Moscow Mills, Winfield, Davis, Hawk Point,
Eolia, Fountain N` Lakes, Chain of Rocks, Flint Hill, Old
Monroe, Silex, Foley, Truxton, Whiteside, Cave, New Hope and
Olney.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
