.DISCUSSION...

An active weather pattern will continue throughout this week with
daily chances for showers and thunderstorms. A strong cold front
is forecast to cross the region Thursday, bringing an increased
threat for flooding and severe weather. Decreasing rain chances
and cooler conditions are expected as high pressure returns this
weekend.

For today, showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible
for the site through the morning hours. Afterwards, some breaks
in the clouds will appear this afternoon with highs getting into
the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Winds may be elevated out of the
west this afternoon, gusting 15 to 20 knots at times between mainly
noon and 6 PM. Tonight, showers and isolated thunderstorms will
approach the site late in the overnight. These showers may be heavy
at times along with the potential in any thunderstorms of producing
frequent lightning, gusty winds and large hail.

For Thursday, heavier showers and scattered thunderstorms will be
possible for the Key Bridge site throughout the day. Some of these
storms may be strong to severe, with the main hazards being damaging
winds and large hail. Also cannot rule out an isolated tornado/waterspout.
Thunderstorm chances decrease after sunset and further after midnight
Thursday.
