...New AVIATION, MARINE...

.SYNOPSIS...
Issued at 127 PM PDT Mon Apr 15 2024

Dry conditions are here to stay with a gradual warming trend through
midweek, peaking on Wednesday and/or Thursday. Onshore flow
increases toward the end of the week; cooling temperatures near the
coast as marine stratus returns.

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Tuesday)
Issued at 127 PM PDT Mon Apr 15 2024

A gradual warming trend will kick off today with temperatures in the
mid-to-upper 50s near the coast and upper 60s inland. Low clouds
and/or fog make a return tonight, most likely across the North Bay,
with slightly warmer temperatures. Still, overnight lows will drop
into the mid 40s for most locations.

By Tuesday the warming trend will continue with afternoon highs
expected to range from the 60s to lower 70s near the coast with mid-
to-upper 70s inland. Dry conditions will also continue throughout
the forecast period.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday night through Sunday)
Issued at 216 AM PDT Mon Apr 15 2024

Looking ahead to mid-week, warmer, drier weather reigns as ridging
builds in from the west. A warming trend will begin mid-week with
Wednesday and Thursday looking to be the warmest days. Inland highs
will reach the mid to upper 70`s and a few locations may reach the
low 80`s. Moving into Friday temperatures will cool down slightly to
the upper 60`s to mid 70`s as upper level ridging becomes more zonal
and allows for increased onshore flow.

High pressure will keep precipitation pushed northward of the Bay
Area with the CPC highlighting below average precipitation for next
6-10 days. Ensemble guidance indicates that unsettled weather may
return towards the end of April but as of now confidence remains
low.

VFR conditions prevailing this afternoon, fairly decent drying and
mixing are also taking place over the coastal waters keeping areal
low cloud coverage at a minimum. Low clouds over land will dissipate
after sunset, low clouds /MVFR-IFR/ redeveloping over the coastal
waters under nocturnal cooling. Patchy fog /LIFR/ also developing
late tonight and Tuesday morning due to nocturnal cooling and light
mixing winds.

Vicinity of SFO...VFR. West wind 15 to 20 knots during the evening,
easing to light wind late tonight and Tuesday morning. West wind
near 15 knots resuming Tuesday afternoon and evening.

SFO Bridge Approach...Similar to SFO.

Monterey Bay Terminals...VFR. West to northwest winds 10 to 15 knots
this evening, decreasing and becoming light southeast winds late
tonight and Tuesday morning. West to northwest winds 10 to 15 knots
Tuesday afternoon.

.MARINE...
(Tonight through next Saturday)
Issued at 453 PM PDT Mon Apr 15 2024

High pressure will persist through much of the week, bringing
largely fair weather conditions despite the presence of marine
stratus. Fresh winds continue out of the NW, occasionally gusting
to be strong. Gale force gusts are likely over the far northern
waters Tuesday afternoon and through the late night. Moderate
period northwest swell continues to move through the waters this
week, though shortens in period to around 8-10 seconds near
Wednesday. Light, longer period (18 seconds) southerly swell will
also be present through the week.
