Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
322 PM CDT Mon Apr 23 2018

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns are relatively low through midweek across
western and north central Nebraska. A cold front dropping through
the area will bring up to a quarter inch of moisture tonight into
Tuesday. Drier air arrives Wednesday, but humidity remains above
25 percent in the panhandle and 30 percent elsewhere. A few things
to note about the wind... Breezy southeast winds this afternoon
will wane after sunset, however a rapid switch to northwest will
occur early Tuesday with the cold front passage. Wind speeds
strengthen through the day Tuesday with gusts exceeding 30 mph.
Another wind shift is expected early Thursday morning (south to
northwest) as a second cold front comes through. Breezy north
winds continue into the afternoon (gusts to 30 mph).
