Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
141 PM MST Sat May 18 2024

...NEAR CRITICAL CONDITIONS ACROSS ALL DISTRICTS MONDAY
AFTERNOON...

.DISCUSSION...
With dry conditions prevailing, temperatures will retreat closer
to the seasonal normal over the next couple days. Afternoon
humidity levels in the single digits over lower elevations and low
teens across higher terrain areas will be common following poor
to fair overnight recovery of 20-40%. Wind gusts Sunday afternoon
20-30 mph will be common resulting in a slightly elevated fire
danger. Even stronger gusts 25-40 mph will be possible Monday
afternoon resulting in near critical conditions where any ongoing
fires and new starts could spread rapidly.

Note...Additional Fire Weather Forecast information can be found
in the Area Forecast Discussion. See product PHXAFDPSR.
