...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT WAYNE...PULASKI AND
WESTERN MCCREARY COUNTIES...

At 1112 AM EDT, an area of strong thunderstorms were clustered near
Jamestown, or 14 miles west of Monticello, moving east at 35 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph, cloud to ground lightning, and brief
heavy rains are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Somerset, Monticello, Whitley City, Science Hill, Burnside,
Parmleysville, Cains Store, Sloans Valley, Parnell, Co-
Operative, Bronston, Slickford, Dabney, Ritner, Hogue, Magnum, Blue
Heron, Coopersville, Greenwood and Alpine.

If you are on or near Lake Cumberland, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
