Synopsis for Altamaha Sound GA to Flagler Beach FL out to 60 nm-
302 AM EDT Tue Mar 26 2024

.SYNOPSIS...

Strong high pressure centered over New England and Atlantic
Canada will continue to wedge down the southeastern seaboard this
morning and will then weaken this afternoon. Breezy onshore winds
will maintain elevated seas, with Small Craft Advisory conditions
continuing through tonight near shore and through Wednesday
afternoon offshore. Meanwhile, a wavy frontal boundary that will
be approaching the Florida panhandle this afternoon will continue
to decelerate as it approaches our local waters on Wednesday.
Winds will shift to southerly by Wednesday afternoon as showers
and thunderstorms begin to overspread our region. Strong to
isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible, mainly across the
northeast Florida waters on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Activity will continue through Thursday morning before the frontal
boundary moves across our local waters, with winds abruptly
shifting to northwesterly in the wake of this frontal passage,
with Small Craft Advisory conditions expected to develop offshore
before sunset. Winds will then shift to northerly on Thursday
night as high pressure builds over the lower Mississippi Valley in
the wake of this frontal passage. Winds and seas will then
diminish by Friday afternoon and evening as high pressure builds
directly over our area. High pressure will then shift southeast of
our local waters on Saturday night, resulting in gradually
strengthening southwesterly winds.
