Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM... * Until 930 AM EDT. * At 839 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Vilano Beach, or near Saint Augustine, moving northeast at 25 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Dorothy Louise Barge, Vilano Beach, South Ponte Vedra Beach, Guana River State Park, and Saint Augustine. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 PM EDT for northeastern Florida...and the adjacent coastal waters. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately. If your vessel is caught offshore, immediately secure for heavy weather.
