Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
254 AM CDT Wed Apr 17 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A cooler and wetter weather pattern will keep fire weather
concerns generally low for western and north central Nebraska
through the weekend. One exception will be today when humidity
levels drop to around 20% in far southwest Nebraska (southern zone
210) and southerly winds gust to 20 mph. Otherwise, periodic
precipitation chances over the next several days will keep any
serious fire threat at bay. Potential exists for 0.50" of moisture
across the Sandhills tonight, and even light snow accumulations
(around a dusting) are possible Friday night in western Nebraska.
Of note, northerly winds will gust above 30 mph overnight across
southwest Neb and tomorrow afternoon over north central Nebraska.
