...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Missouri...Illinois...

  Mississippi River near Herculaneum.

  Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL FRIDAY, MAY 10...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester.

* WHEN...Until Friday, May 10.

* IMPACTS...At 31.5 feet, In Perry County, Highway E is closed
  between County Road 322 and Levee Road (County Road 354) at Bois
  Brule Creek.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 30.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:30 PM CDT Friday was 31.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 30.7
    feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
    flood stage Thursday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

    ending at 9:00 PM CDT Friday was 26.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    early Monday morning and continue falling to 22.7 feet
    Thursday evening.
  - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

  occur at this level.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 21.9 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:30 PM CDT Friday was 22.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    tomorrow afternoon and continue falling to 18.5 feet Thursday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
