...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN CRAVEN AND CARTERET COUNTIES...

At 908 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Sealevel to Cape Lookout Lighthouse to 26 miles
south of Bogue Inlet Pier, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. These thunderstorms have a
         history of producing wind gusts to 60 mph, tree and power
         line damage, and dime to quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Havelock, Morehead City, Newport, Cedar Island, Harkers Island, South
River, Cape Carteret, North River, Sealevel, Marshallberg, Davis,
Smyrna, Merrimon, Straits, Atlantic, Pine Knoll Shores, Harlowe,
Otway, Broad Creek, and Great Neck.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Newport.
