452 FXUS64 KOHX 301206 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 706 AM CDT Tue Apr 30 2024 ...New AVIATION... .SHORT TERM... (Today through Wednesday) Issued at 136 AM CDT Tue Apr 30 2024 Some efficient rain is slowly moving across the area tonight. Along with some pockets of heavy rain, it has been noisy at times. Looking at MRMS QPE there have been a couple swaths of 1.5-2". The band of heaviest rain has been progressive enough to not cause any major flood concerns. The showers are quickly coming to an end for locations along the Tennessee River and by 12z most locations west of I-65 should be dry. The showers will linger longer on the plateau with a couple scattered showers still possible this afternoon. There will be plenty of sunshine this afternoon and clear skies tonight. With a moist boundary layer and calm winds, expect some areas of fog to develop after midnight. After any fog mixes out Wednesday morning, sunshine and warm temperatures will be the story of the day. Highs Wednesday afternoon will be in the low to mid 80s. && .LONG TERM... (Wednesday Night through next Tuesday) Issued at 136 AM CDT Tue Apr 30 2024 The warm and dry conditions will stay with us one more day on Thursday. There`s a chance a couple of locations including BNA touch 90 Thursday afternoon. Dew points will be in the mid 50s with a southerly 10-15 mph wind so it will not feel overly oppressive. Our next chance of rain will be Thursday night into Friday as a couple of shortwaves move through the mid level flow. Widespread showers should come to an end Friday night with wavy zonal flow this weekend. NBM PoPs seem on the high side for the setup. A few scattered showers will be possible each day, but the weekend does not appear to be a washout. Better rain chances look likely Sunday night or Monday as a stronger shortwave moves through the plains. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 703 AM CDT Tue Apr 30 2024 Periods of low cigs continue across the area with SHRA moving across the Plateau and eventually out of the area. All TAF sites should return to VFR with predominantly northerly winds by 18Z. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
