.SHORT TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 220 AM CDT Thu May 9 2024

Some patchy fog has developed mainly across portions of central
Missouri early this morning. A surface boundary is moving east
through the area early this morning with a drier air mass
advecting in from west to east behind it. This drier air should
help improve any fog that develops over the next few hours.

Northwesterly winds will occur today across the region and could
gusts up to 20 mph at times this afternoon. Highs this afternoon
will warm into the middle 70s across much of the area, with some
upper 70 readings expected across south central Missouri.

An upper level trough will move south through the region
tonight into Friday morning. A dry air mass will be in place
therefore no rain is expected with the passage of the trough. A
slightly cooler air mass will move into the area as highs in the
upper 60s to the lower 70s occur on Friday. Lows will cool into
the upper 40s to the lower 50s tonight into Friday morning and
again Friday night into Saturday morning.

&&

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 220 AM CDT Thu May 9 2024

The region will remain in a northwest upper level flow pattern
on Saturday as another upper level trough moves into the Great
Lakes region. Highs on Saturday will warm into the lower to
middle 70s as lows Saturday night into Sunday morning cool into
the upper 40s to lower 50s again.

The ensemble model members then show an upper level trough
moving into the Plains late this weekend and then moving east
across the region early next week. Some rain chances could start
to return as early as Sunday, but overall the better chances
will be early next week as a surface low tracks east across
northern Arkansas/southern Missouri. A few rumbles of thunder
will be possible at times as the ensemble model members are
showing weak instability developing across the area early next
week.
