Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Montana
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
300 AM MDT Wed Apr 25 2018

.DISCUSSION...

A clipper system will move across the Northern Rockies today,
dragging a cold front across North Central and Southwest Montana
during the late morning and afternoon hours. While a few rain
showers will be possible as the system moves overhead (especially
over the Central Montana Mountains), the biggest impact will be a
significant wind shift and period of breezy/gusty winds with and
following the cold frontal passage. Temperatures then warm
significantly for the second half of the work week and into the
weekend, with most locations rising some 20 to 30 degrees above
normal for daytime highs. From Saturday afternoon forward, a
potent storm could bring widespread and significant precipitation
to most Fire Weather Zones.
