Developmental Probabilistic Snow Accumulation Forecast
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, Colorado
0311 MDT Friday, April 19, 2024

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This developmental product contains the probabilities (%) that the given snow
amounts (inches) will occur at Denver International Airport during the respec-
tive 3- or 12-hour periods. The probabilities indicate the amount of snow that
is expected to accumulate on runways and other concrete surfaces at DIA.
[T (trace) means more than zero.]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Short Term (19/03-20/06 MDT): Some areas of drizzle or light snow possible this
morning, but no snow accumulation isn`t likely. A higher end scenario would be a
light accumulation of slush. Rain showers develop in the late afternoon changing
to snow early evening.

Long Term (20/06-21/06 MDT): Snow will continue into early Saturday morning,
with up to another inch of snow expected on grassy surfaces, and some slush
accumulation on runways. Storm total snow on elevated and grassy surfaces is
expected to range between 1 and 4 inches at DIA, but more melting will occur on
paved surfaces where a slushy coating to one inch of snow accumulation is
possible before tapering off around 9 am Saturday. Snow showers will be possible
in the late morning to afternoon hours Saturday, but no additional accumulation
will occur on the pavement given the relatively high sun angle and daytime
heating.
