.DISCUSSION...

Not much has changed since the previous discussion.

The main impact for the area will be strong to severe
thunderstorms. The first line is expected to push in and affect
the area as early as midnight to 1am Thursday before coming to an
end around 6am. The second line looks to begin affecting the
Alpharetta area as early as 8-9am with thunderstorms affecting the
area through early afternoon (1-2pm). The main threats at this
time continue to be damaging wind gusts, large hail and the
potential to see a few tornadoes. Some uncertainty remains with
the afternoon and evening line of showers and thunderstorms but
current thinking is that scattered showers and thunderstorms will
pop up in the afternoon and early evening before another line
moves through overnight on Thursday into Friday morning. Breezy
northwest winds (8-13 MPH with gusts nearing 22MPH) will follow
with the passage of the cold front in the afternoon following the
secondary line Thursday. Gusty, erratic winds may accompany
thunderstorms that occur in the area.
