...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of Oconee, southeastern
Barrow, Clarke, northeastern Walton, southeastern Jackson and
Oglethorpe Counties through 530 AM EDT...

At 444 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Bogart, or 9 miles
northwest of Watkinsville, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
         ground lightning.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
         light, unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Watkinsville, Lexington, Athens, Statham, Arcade, Winterville,
Bogart, Crawford, North High Shoals, Arnoldsville, Bishop, Maxeys,
Whitehall, Athens-Clarke County, Stephens, Westgate Park, Smithonia,
Beechwood Hills, Oconee Heights, and Eastville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
