...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL MCDOWELL AND
SOUTHWESTERN BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH MIDNIGHT EDT...

At 1119 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles northeast of Marion, or near Lake James, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Morganton, Marion, Valdese, Drexel, Glen Alpine, Lake James State
Park, South Mountains State Park, Lake James, Lake Rhodhiss, and
Nebo.
