985 FNUS54 KHGX 052018 FWFHGX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Texas National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 318 PM CDT Sun May 5 2024 .DISCUSSION... A weak upper level disturbance will trigger scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms for locations generally north of a Columbus-Livingston line on Monday...though rainfall intensity and amounts should not trigger any additional flood concerns than what is already ongoing. Otherwise, rain chances will continue a downward trend into midweek, although temperatures and heat indices will be on the rise and should be taken into account if woring outside. Winds will remain from a south to southeast direction until Thursday night when the next front moves across the region.
