The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Waters from Lower Atchafalaya River to Intracoastal City LA from 20
  to 60 NM...

* Until 115 AM CDT.

* At 1250 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located near Eugene Island 325, or 64 nm southwest
  of Caillou Bay, moving northeast at 55 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Eugene Island 257, Eugene Island 258, Eugene Island 325, Ship Shoal
  224, Eugene Island 276, Ship Shoal 248, Eugene Island 277, Eugene
  Island 295, Eugene Island 296, Eugene Island 306, Ship Shoal 295,
  and Eugene Island 281.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
