OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...Low pressure of 29.6 inches over Ontario will shift
over southern Quebec late this afternoon and tonight. A cold
front trailing from this low will push southeast across Lake
Michigan tonight, eventually stalling just south of the lake
Tuesday. High pressure of 30.2 inches will spread across Ontario
and the northern Lakes Tuesday night while the front remains
stalled just south of the lake. Low pressure will then develop
across the Plains mid-week, deepening to 29.6 inches and lifting
to the northern Lakes by late Thursday. The stalled front will
lift north as a warm front across the lake ahead of this low.

showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Waves 2 to 4 ft.
.TONIGHT...North winds 15 to 25 kt becoming northeast 10 to 20
kt. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Waves building to
4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.
.TUESDAY...Northeast winds 10 to 20 kt becoming north. Waves 3 to
5 ft subsiding to 1 to 3 ft.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...North winds 10 to 20 kt becoming northeast.
Waves 2 to 4 ft.
.WEDNESDAY...Northeast winds 10 to 20 kt. Chance of showers in
the afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 ft.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...East winds 10 to 20 kt becoming southeast
15 to 25 kt. Showers likely. Waves 1 to 3 ft building to 2 to
4 ft.
.THURSDAY...Southeast winds 10 to 20 kt becoming south to 30 kt.
Showers and thunderstorms likely. Waves 3 to 5 ft building to 4 to
7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.
.FRIDAY...Northwest winds 15 to 25 kt diminishing to 10 to 20 kt.
