OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
814 PM CDT Wed May 16 2018

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...A high pressure ridge of 30.0 inches across southern
Lake Michigan will weaken through Thursday. Low pressure of 29.6
inches over far eastern Ontario will push a weakening cold front
southward across the lake overnight into Thursday morning. A
stronger high of 30.3 inches will then shift over southeastern
Canada and the Upper Great Lakes region Thursday night into
Friday, while a trough develops across the central and northern
Plains. The high pressure will retreat northward early next week
as a series of weak low pressure systems cross the southern Great
Lakes.
