OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
833 PM CST Sun Jan 20 2019

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

A lingering pressure gradient will continue to cause gusty winds
over Lake Michigan into tonight along with areas of heavy freezing
spray. The pressure gradient will relax a bit later tonight and
Monday as high pressure of 30.7 inches moves across southern
Canada.

Winds turn southeasterly by Monday afternoon as low pressure of
29.5 inches develops in eastern Colorado. That low will lift into
Iowa by Tuesday, with gusty south winds continuing ahead of the
low. Marginal gales will be possible late Monday night and on
Tuesday over the south half of the lake.

Winds will become northwesterly behind the low Tuesday night into
Wednesday. Heavy freezing spray will become a risk once again
late in the week as very cold air returns to the region.
