OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
249 PM CST Tue Feb 12 2019

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Low pressure of 29.4 inches over Lower Michigan will lift to
southern Lake Huron by early evening while strengthening to 29.3
inches. Northeast winds across northern Lake Michigan will switch
to northwest gales late this evening. Northwest gales will
develop over the south half of Lake Michigan late this afternoon.
Gales will continue into Wednesday morning. High pressure of 29.9
inches will then move across Lake Michigan Wednesday night into
Thursday morning with much lighter winds expected.

Another low of 29.4 inches is then expected to develop over the
region Thursday night, as a cold front sweeps across the lake.
Winds will again be gusty from the northwest behind this front,
but should remain just under gales. Freezing spray will also be a
concern as colder air builds into the area.
