...THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 NM...
  New York Harbor...

At 832 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of
producing northwest winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms
were aproaching the the NYC and NJ metro area, moving southeast at
45 knots.

Thunderstorms will be near...
  Upper New York Harbor around 845 PM EDT.
  The Verrazano Narrows Bridge around 850 PM EDT.
  Raritan Bay, Jamaica Bay, and Lower New York Harbor around 855 PM
  EDT.
  Keansburg and Rockaway Inlet around 900 PM EDT.
  Barnum Island, Sandy Hook Bay, Island Park, and Middle Bay around
  905 PM EDT.
  Atlantic Highlands and Jones Inlet around 910 PM EDT.
  Entrance to New York Harbor around 925 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
