...A Red Flag Warning has been issued from 9 AM TO 10 PM Tuesday
for portions of south central and southeast Colorado...

...A Fire Weather Watch has been issued from Wednesday morning
through Wednesday evening for portions of south central and
southeast Colorado.

.Discussion...

Strong winds out of the west to northwest will continue into the
late afternoon through early evening. Winds will be 25-35 mph with
gusts to 40-60 mph. Winds again will be strong on Tuesday, sustained
at 25-30 mph with gusts to 40-50 mph, and might occasionally reach
High Wind Warning criteria for the San Luis Valley, Sangre de Cristo
Mountains, mid-Arkansas River Valley, Wet Mountains and Wet Mountain
Valley, and I-25 corridor from Pueblo County to the New Mexico
border. Fuels are still critical in the San Luis Valley and portions
of the SE Plains, thus with min relative humidity values in the
lower teens and strong winds, fire weather conditions will be in
place tomorrow, and again on Wednesday for these locations. Some
snow is possible over the central mountains. Chances of
precipitation will increase Thursday through Saturday over the
district, with a mitigation to the fire weather threat as cooler
temperatures and higher RH values return.

Ventilation rates for smoke dispersion will become Excellent during
the afternoon hours and early evening hours through Wednesday due to
strong winds and deep mixing.
