MARCH 2018 WAS COOLER THAN NORMAL, DRIER THAN NORMAL, AND HAD LESS
SNOW THAN NORMAL. NO MONTHLY TOP TENS OR RECORDS WERE ACHIEVED THIS
MONTH. SEVERAL SYSTEMS MOVED THROUGH THE AREA IN THE FIRST HALF OF
THE MONTH, THEN THE ACTIVE TRACK MOVED SOUTH OF THE AREA FOR MOST OF
THE SECOND HALF OF MARCH. THERE WAS NO SEVERE WEATHER IN MARCH.

AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE AREAS RANGED FROM 30 TO 35 DEGREES
IN OCTOBER, WHILE NORMAL VALUES ARE AROUND 35 DEGREES. SO JUST A BIT
COOLER THAN NORMAL, BUT NOWHERE NEAR RECORD LEVELS.

MEANWHILE, PRECIPITATION TOTALS RANGED FROM UNDER AN INCH ACROSS
CENTRAL LOWER MICHIGAN TO TWO AND A HALF INCHES ACROSS THE SOUTH.
THESE TOTALS RANGE FROM NEAR NORMAL IN THE SOUTH TO ONE AND A HALF
INCHES LESS THAN NORMAL ACROSS CENTRAL LOWER. AGAIN, THIS IS DRIER
THAN NORMAL, BUT NOT NEAR RECORD LEVELS.

SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS RANGED FROM 3 TO 10 INCHES ACROSS SOUTHWEST
LOWER MICHIGAN IN MARCH 2018. THESE TOTALS RANGED FROM 2 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL IN EASTERN AREAS TO 4 INCHES BELOW NORMAL IN WESTERN
AREAS. NO MONTHLY RECORDS REACHED.
