.THE 2018 FALL SEASON SAW BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AT HIBBING MN...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE FALL SEASON WAS 36.6 DEGREES WHICH
WAS 3.3 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 39.9 DEGREES...MAKING THIS THE
4TH COLDEST FALL IN STATION HISTORY. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE
FALL WAS 85 DEGREES ON SEPTEMBER 16TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FOR
THE FALL WAS -11 DEGREES ON NOVEMBER 20TH. NO MONTHLY TEMPERATURE
RECORDS WERE BROKEN THIS FALL...HOWEVER OCTOBER WAS THE 3RD COLDEST
IN STATION HISTORY WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 36.5 DEGREES. THE
NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR OCTOBER IS 40.8 DEGREES. NOVEMBER WAS
THE 4TH COLDEST IN STATION HISTORY WITH A NORMAL TEMPERATURE OF 19.5
DEGREES. THE NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR NOVEMBER IS 25.9
DEGREES.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR THE FALL WAS 7.1 MPH. THE HIGHEST
SUSTAINED WIND OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 3RD WITH A WIND FROM THE
NORTHWEST AT 37 MPH. THE HIGHEST PEAK WIND GUST OCCURRED ON OCTOBER
3RD WITH A SPEED OF 54 MPH.

THERE WERE 2579 HEATING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE FALL WHICH WAS 287 ABOVE
THE NORMAL OF 2292. THERE WERE 17 COOLING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE FALL
WHICH WAS 8 ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 9.

THE OUTLOOK FOR WINTER...NORMAL HIGHS START IN THE MID 20S IN
EARLY DECEMBER AND COOL TO THE UPPER TEENS ABOVE ZERO BY MID
JANUARY. BY THE END OF FEBRUARY HIGHS WARM UP TO THE UPPER 20S.
NORMAL LOWS START IN THE SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE ZERO IN EARLY DECEMBER
AND COOL TO THE SINGLE DIGITS BELOW ZERO BY MID JANUARY. BY THE END
OF FEBRUARY LOWS WARM UP TO THE SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE ZERO. THE LATEST
CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER OUTLOOK INDICATES THAT ODDS ARE TILTED
TOWARD ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND SLIGHTLY TILTED TOWARD BELOW
NORMAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE WINTER.
