...The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued
a Flood Warning in cooperation with the California Department
of Water Resources for the following rivers in California...

  Navarro River at Navarro affecting Mendocino County
  Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Humboldt County

A strong storm system has brought moderate to heavy rainfall to the
Navarro and Eel River Basins. Periods of moderate to heavy rain will
continue to impact the region through Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Do not drive your car across flooded roadways. It only takes about
two feet of water to float most vehicles. For area road conditions,
call Caltrans at 1-800-427-7623.

Stay tuned to developments by listening to NOAA Weather Radio or your
local TV or radio stations.

The next statement will be issued by 4 PM or as warranted by changing conditions.

 The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a

* Flood Warning for the Navarro River at Navarro.
* from this afternoon to late Thursday night...or until the warning
  is cancelled.
* At  8:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 12.4 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* FORECAST...This river is Expected to rise above flood stage of
  23.0 FT this afternoon, then forecast to crest near 32.0 FT near
  noon Thursday. Then the river is forecast to fall below flood stage
  late Thursday evening and recede further to near 13.5 FT late
  Saturday morning..
* IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, Water will flow over the south bank of the
  river approximately 1 mile east of Highway 1, and begins to flood
  property in this area including six homes. Expect closure of
  Highway 128. Motorists should use alternate routes.
* FLOOD HISTORY...This crest compares to a previous crest of 31.4 feet
  on February, 7 2017.

 The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a

* Flood Warning for the Eel River at Fernbridge.
* from Thursday afternoon to Friday afternoon...or until the warning
  is cancelled.
* At  8:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 6.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* FORECAST...This river is Forecast to rise above monitor stage of
  14.0 FT then expected to rise above flood stage of  20.0 FT
  Thursday afternoon. The river is forecast to crest near 22.0 FT late
  Thursday evening and fall below flood stage late Friday morning. The
  Eel river will further recede to near 13.5 FT late Saturday morning..
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, the western half of the Eel Delta may be
  completely flooded, especially if at or above this level for an
  extended period of time. This includes areas northwest of Loleta
  and the western portion of Cannibal Island Road.
* FLOOD HISTORY...This crest compares to a previous crest of 21.8 feet
  on January 14, 1995.
