...Discussion from Monterey...

A shallow marine layer of 500-1,000 feet will keep the coast cool
and moist today. Above the marine layer, above normal temperatures
continue with poor minimum daytime relative humidity. Moderate to
excellent recovery is expected. Diurnal onshore winds will increase
through the day, peaking this afternoon and evening with gusts of
30-40 mph through gaps and passes, across ridgelines, and down
northwest-southeast oriented valleys. Winds will remain elevated
overnight with similar conditions expected through Sunday. Cooler
and moister conditions are expected tomorrow and Sunday with below
normal temperatures and an increase in relative humidity. Light rain
chances return Monday into Tuesday.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...SEASONABLE ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THROUGH THE WEEKEND
ACROSS THE INTERIOR...WITH LOCALLY BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS OVER THE DRIEST AND WINDIEST PORTIONS OF THE EASTERN SAN
GABRIELS AND ANTELOPE VALLEY INCLUDING ADJACENT FOOTHILLS...

Onshore winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to 40 mph will be
common over the interior areas through at least the weekend, with
isolated 30 gusts to 45 mph in the Antelope Valley foothills. the
strongest winds will be today and Saturday, and slightly stronger
than usual. Meanwhile, minimum humidities of 10 to 20 percent will
be common over the interior, with pockets of 5 to 10 percent
readings over the eastern San Gabriel mountains and Antelope Valley.
This will lead to seasonable elevated conditions, with locally brief
critical conditions over the driest and windiest portions of the
eastern San Gabriels and Antelope Valley including adjacent
foothills. On the coastal side of the ranges, a deep marine layer
will persist with patchy light drizzle at times. Widespread gusty
west to northwest winds are likely around Tuesday as a dry front
passes the area. Warming and drying likely to follow Wednesday
through the end of next week, with some generally weak offshore
flow.
