...DISCUSSION FROM RNOFWFVEF...

CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY OVER
THE HIGHER TERRAIN, COOLER TEMPERATURES AND NORTH BREEZES ARE
EXPECTED TODAY AND MONDAY AS LOW PRESSURE MOVES OVER SOUTHERN
NEVADA. IMPROVING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND WARMING TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED THROUGH THE WORK WEEK AS A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS
INLAND.

...DISCUSSION FROM LAXFWFSGX...

A BROAD UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL PERSIST OVER THE FORECAST AREA TODAY
BRINGING CONTINUED COOL CONDITIONS ACROSS THE REGION TODAY. STRONG
ONSHORE FLOW WILL CAUSE NORTHWEST TO WEST WINDS TO CONTINUE THROUGH
MID MORNING, THEN WEAKEN SOME BY LATE THIS MORNING, BUT CONTINUE TO
BE BREEZY ACROSS MOUNTAIN PASSES AND DESERT REGIONS. THERE IS ALSO
A SLIGHT CHANCE OF LIGHT SHOWERS EARLY THIS MORNING DUE TO THE DEEP
MOIST LAYER IN PLACE, MAINLY ALONG AND WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS IN SAN
DIEGO COUNTY. HIGH PRESSURE WILL STRENGTHEN ACROSS CALIFORNIA
MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK, BRINGING A STRONG WARMING
TREND. LIGHT OFFSHORE FLOW ON TUESDAY WILL BRING GUSTY WINDS BELOW
THE SAN BERNARDINO AND SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS.

...DISCUSSION FROM PHXFWFPSR...

NO CHANGES TO THE SHORT TERM FORECAST...STRENGTHENING WEST WINDS
WITH GUSTS 20-25 MPH (AND SOMEWHAT STRONGER IN SE CALIFORNIA)
COMBINED WITH HUMIDITY LEVELS FALLING TO NEAR 10%, AND RECEPTIVE
FINE FUELS WILL RESULT IN AN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON.
WHILE WIDESPREAD CRITICAL CONDITIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED, ANY NEW FIRE
STARTS COULD SPREAD QUICKLY TODAY. SLIGHTLY HIGHER HUMIDITY LEVELS
AND WEAKER WINDS SUNDAY WILL LESSEN THE FIRE DANGER TO SOME EXTENT.
