...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR AUGUST 17, 2019 TORNADO EVENT - UPDATE...

.UPDATE...Additional surveys and information were acquired between
Monday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 21.  Five additional tornadoes
were identified across southwestern Minnesota. These tornadoes occurred
between 10:55 PM and 11:30 PM CDT on the evening of August 17.

.READING, MINNESOTA...

SURVEY_SUMMARY: An EF-0 tornado moved north of the village of Reading
on August 17. Damage was primarily limited to trees with a couple of
trees snapped or uprooted and numerous branches down. A home had
damage to its roof.

SURVEY_SUMMARY: An EF-0 tornado briefly touched down south of Iona,
Minnesota. The tornado flattened corn south of Iona and then moved
northeast. The tornado moved through a cemetary east of Iona
toppling headstones and snapping a couple of trees.

SURVEY_SUMMARY: An EF-0 tornado touched down south of Lake
Sarah and flattened corn along most of its path.  As the
tornado approached the southeastern end of Lake Sarah, a
shed was destroyed by the tornado. The tornado lifted as
it reached the lake.

.RURAL MURRAY COUNTY, MINNESOTA...

SURVEY_SUMMARY: An EF-0 tornado touched down in rural Murray
County to the west of Lake Shetek. A narrow corridor of corn
of flattened along most of the path of the tornado.  The
tornado moved across a home and snapped a tree that landed on
the roof the home.  A shed was also destoyed by the tornado
with debris carried around a quarter mile east of the home.

SURVEY_SUMMARY: An EF-0 tornado touched down along Highway 62
west of Minnesota. Corn was flatted along the path of the
tornado with no other damage reported.

Tornadoes into the following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph

EF5...Violent...>200 mph
