.DISCUSSION...
Today (Sunday) and Monday will feature mostly clear skies and
temperatures warming to near seasonal averages, primarily in the
upper 50s to around 70 range. Light winds are expected both days.
On Tuesday, a cold front will shift winds to northerly with
breezy gusts in the 20 to 30 mph range. Light rain on the order
of 0.10 to 0.30 inches is expected with the front Tuesday.
Temperatures warm again Wednesday with light winds, followed by
another cold front with breezy north winds and chances for rain
Thursday.

...HIGH FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the high category
this afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions or a low
moisture content of grasses and other dry organic material
on the ground indicate that there is a moderate to high
potential for a fire occurrence. Outdoor burning should be
restricted to early morning or evening hours when wind speeds
are usually lower and the relative humidity is higher.

OUTLOOK FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the moderate category.

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.

category this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a
moderate moisture content of grasses and other dry organic
material on the ground...indicate that there is some potential
for a fire occurrence. Do not leave outdoor fires unattended
under these conditions.

will reach the moderate category.

this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses and other dry organic material on the
ground indicate that the probability of a fire occurrence is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions.
