...RED FLAG WARNING FROM NOON TO 8 PM TODAY FOR PARTS OF CENTRAL
AND EASTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WIND, LOW HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLE
ATMOSPHERE...

.South and southwest winds will strengthen today ahead of an
upper level trough approaching from the southwest. Minimum
humidity will fall to near 10% with above normal temperatures,
wind gusts up to 40 mph, and high Haines indices. Surface winds
will taper off after sunset Friday to alleviate critical fire
weather.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM MDT
THIS EVENING...

* AREA AND TIMING...Middle Rio Grande Valley (106), Sandia and
  Manzano Mountains (Zone 124), Central Highlands (Zone 125),
  Northeast Highlands (Zone 123), and Northeast Plains (Zone
  104) today from noon until 8 PM MDT.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...South and southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts up
  to 40 mph, except up to 45 mph across northeast areas.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...9 to 11 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Red Flag Warning.
