...River Statement For The Tallapoosa River at The Tallapoosa Water
Plant...

.Heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours is producing minor rises on
the Tallapoosa River at The Tallapoosa Water Plant. However, levels
are expected to remain below established flood stages, and any
overflow along the river should be of minor nature.


The Tallapoosa River at The Tallapoosa Water Plant.
* At 7:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 14.9 feet.
* Action stage is 15 feet.
* Flood stage is 25 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.3 feet
  Monday evening.
* Impact...At 15 feet...Low areas near the junction with the Coosa
  River begin to overflow. Extensive flooding of low lying areas
  begins between US 231 and the river at stages of 15 to 25 feet.


Another statement will be issued by Saturday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
