Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
205 AM MDT Thu May 2 2024

.DISCUSSION...Fire weather concerns will be low today and Friday.
A drier airmass has pushed into southeast Wyoming early this
morning, and will eventually make it to western Nebraska later
this morning. Daytime humidities will lower into the teens with
westerly winds gusting up to 40 MPH at times. A few areas may see
locally critical conditions, but with humidities above 15 percent
and green-up observed across the area, concerns are limited at
this time. Otherwise, another cold front is expected to push
across the area and stall near the Colorado border on Friday. This
will bring another round of showers and isolated thunderstorms to
the region. Some snow is expected above 6500 feet. Drier and
warmer conditions forecast for this weekend before another
unsettled weather pattern develops over the Intermountain west for
the start of next week.
