Winds will continue to decrease late this evening behind a cold
front that is passing through the area. Some gusts 40 to 50 mph will
still be possible through 10 PM from Winslow eastward, but gusts
under 35 mph are expected west of Winslow.

THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* WHERE...Little Colorado River Valley in Apache County and White
  Mountains. The strongest wind gusts near 60 mph are expected in
  the Springerville and Eagar areas.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM MST /midnight MDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
  Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Secure loose objects that
could be blown around or damaged by the wind.

Winds this strong will make driving extremely difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles, such as RVs, campers, and tractor
trailers. Use extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel.
