.DISCUSSION...
Cold air will linger across the region today with slight warming
into Thursday. With high pressure over the northern plains, some
overrunning snow is possible again this afternoon across central
Montana.

Upper low forming off the Pacific Northwest will eject a shortwave
across the northern Rockies after midweek, that will push an upper
ridge through the state. Temperatures will be warming with a lee
low developing. As the low moves toward the plains, expect some
precipitation across the region from Thursday afternoon through
Friday morning. Since the system will warm with southwest flow and
compressional heating, expect rain to begin with then changing
over to snow overnight.

Another wave drops south from Canada over the weekend for a slight
cool down and chance of snow. There is more uncertainty regarding
this system, so details not as clear, but current ensembles have
minimal snow accumulation (probability of more than 2 inches at
around 5%).

.AVIATION...
Mostly VFR conditions are expected with clear skies over the east.
Some lower clouds are moving across the west, including KGGW, with
flurries, fog or MVFR ceilings possible this morning. Clouds will
retreat westward this afternoon, but return overnight.
