COUNTIES...

.SHORT TERM (Today through Thursday)...
The warming trend will continue today with the coast and valleys a
few degrees warmer than Monday with the deserts around 4 to 8
degrees warmer with high temperatures around average for the
deserts. Gusty southwest to west winds for the mountains and
deserts for this afternoon will be stronger than on Monday with
the stronger gusts to 35 to 45 mph and isolated gusts to around 55
mph in the northern Coachella Valley below the San Gorgonio Pass.
A weak coastal eddy may bring some patchy low clouds near the
coast this morning.

A coastal eddy for tonight into Wednesday may bring enough
deepening of the marine layer for coastal low clouds to spread
inland into portions of the inland valleys. There will be weak
offshore flow on Wednesday during the day with locally gusty north
winds in the Inland Empire below the Cajon Pass with gusts to
around 40 mph. There will also be gusty north winds in the
Coachella Valley north of Interstate 10 with gusts to 35 to 45
mph. The deserts will be cooler on Wednesday with the coast and
valleys warmer.

A coastal eddy may continue for Wednesday night into Thursday
with night and morning coastal low clouds spreading farther into
the inland valleys. There will be slight warming on Thursday, a
little greater for the deserts.

&&

.LONG TERM (Friday through Monday)...
The slow warming trend will continue into Saturday with high
temperatures on Saturday near the coast a few degrees above
average to 5 to 10 degrees above average for inland areas. Onshore
flow will begin to spread cooling inland for Sunday and Monday
with Monday high temperatures a few degrees below average for the
coast into the valleys and around 4 to 8 degrees above average for
the deserts. NBM probabilities for Palm Springs to have a high
temperature of 100 or higher are greatest on Saturday at 71
percent. That is greater than the 58 percent chance from the
NBM forecast from 24 hours ago.
