Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
411 AM CDT Wed Mar 27 2024

...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today)
Issued at 354 AM CDT Wed Mar 27 2024

Mid level cloudiness will be on the increase today as a weak
shortwave approaches the area. A few light showers or sprinkles
may move into mainly the far western parts of the forecast area
this afternoon, but most places will remain dry. Afternoon high
temperatures will warm into the mid 50s to near 60 degrees.

.LONG TERM...
(Tonight through Tuesday)
Issued at 354 AM CDT Wed Mar 27 2024

Cloudiness will clear tonight following the passage of the
shortwave and this will lead to another chilly night. Some spots
will likely dip to near or just below freezing again, but no
headlines are planned at this time as any freezing conditions look
to remain brief.

A robust warmup will commence Thursday as south winds return, with
70s and lower 80s expected for afternoon highs Friday into the
weekend. Fire weather concerns will increase significantly,
especially Friday when the best combination of strong and gusty
winds and low humidity values will occur.

The next storm system and cold front is still on track to bring a
chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday into Monday night, with
cooler weather to follow the front Tuesday.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1222 AM CDT Wed Mar 27 2024

VFR expected to prevail at all TAF sites with winds staying light
and variable, below 10 knots, through the period. Mid/high level
clouds will increase through the daytime and a very slight chance
of showers will exist late in the afternoon or early in the
evening. However, confidence and probability of precipitation
occurring is too low to include in TAFs at this time.
