Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
250 PM MDT Mon May 6 2024

...STRONG WINDS CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY FOR MUCH OF SOUTHEAST
WYOMING...

.DISCUSSION...
Cold front passed through southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle
this morning. Behind the front...strong west winds have developed and
will continue tonight into Tuesday. Additionally we are seeing snow
showers across our western fire weather zones that will continue
this afternoon and evening. This area of rain and snow will move
slowly northeast Tuesday as the upper low lifts to the northeast into
the Dakotas. Winds will ease somewhat Tuesday night into Wednesday
with drier air moving in from the west. Another upper level disturbance
possible Wednesday evening into Thursday that could bring us more
light rain and snow showers.
