Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
839 AM PDT Fri May 25 2018

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A fairly deep marine layer and clouds
will locally remain into the early afternoon again today. Expect
breezy central gorge winds again today as well. Do not expect any
thunderstorms today.

.DISCUSSION...An upper trough to the north and upper low to the
south both move east today, moving into southeastern British
Columbia and the Great Basin area, respectively, tonight. Some
convective debris showers look to swing around the north side of
the low and could bring a solid wetting rain to the southern
Willamette but far less likely elsewhere.

Stronger onshore flow returns this evening with Saturday being
the coolest day of the next several. High pressure noses back over
the region for a warming trend starting Sunday. But then dry
troughing moves over the region around mid-week for a cooling
trend. Bowen

Note: Routine briefings will begin at 940 AM Tuesday, May 29th.
Access information for the briefing has changed. Please contact
your local fire management official to get your information
