...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following
  counties and independent city, Carroll, City of Galax and Grayson.

* WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 229 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the cluster of heavy
    rain producing storms which prompted the advisory have exited
    the area. Runoff from this earlier heavy rain may still pose
    a concern for flooding as it collects in streams and ditches.
    Additionally, more showers and storms may cross the area this
    afternoon. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Crooked Creek, Hanks Branch, Mill Creek, Glady Fork, Beaver
    Creek, New River, Little Cranberry Creek, Little River, Dixon
    Branch, Chestnut Creek, Meadow Creek and East Fork Crooked
    Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
